Save the Date
HEAL & HOPE 2026
Gathering Together on July 11, 2026
(On the eve of the United Nations International Day of Hope)
In 2025, something unexpected and deeply beautiful happened. Across cities, screens, injuries, and time zones, people came together for a single day dedicated to honouring survivors of broken systems — and imagining what collective healing could look like.
In 2026, we return. Stronger, clearer, and aligned with the International Day of Hope movement.
Why Hope, Why Now
A Movement Born from Necessity
The world feels heavy. Conflict. Polarisation. Economic strain. Social uncertainty. Environmental grief. Systems are breaking down everywhere. You are not imagining it.
And yet — beneath all that — there is a quieter, more powerful force that has kept communities moving forward for centuries:
Hope.
Not the soft kind.
Not the sit-and-wait kind.
Hope as a discipline. Hope as a choice. Hope as a political act. Hope as clarity.
In July 2023, the United Nations formally recognised this power by declaring 12 July the International Day of Hope — a global call for governments, organisations, and communities to cultivate cultures of care, dignity, and possibility.
We gather the day before, to honour that intention and bring it into real lives.

The Global Significance
Grounded in Human Rights and Shared Humanity
The International Day of Hope is anchored in the universal values that shaped the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Its purpose is clear:
-
Lift hope as a public good
-
Counter despair with collective action.
-
Restore dignity where systems have failed people.
-
Reimagine what the future can look like — together.
This is no longer just a commemoration.
It is a movement.

Heal & Hope: A Global Online Ceremony
If you joined us in 2025, you’ll remember what people described afterwards:
A rare feeling of inspiration and hope.
A return to themselves.
A sense that rebuilding is possible.
That spirit returns in 2026 — more intentional, more expansive, more grounded.
This is not a conference.
It is a hybrid gathering of storytelling, witnessing, and deep restoration. Details about tickets and speakers will be announced soon.

The Science of Hope
Why Hope Heals — The Evidence
Psychologist C.R. Snyder defines hope as two things:
-
Agency: the belief that you can influence your future
-
Pathways: the belief that you can find ways to get there
Scientific evidence shows:
-
Hope activates motivation and reward centres in the brain.
-
Higher hope levels correlate with lower depression, anxiety, and trauma symptoms.
-
Cancer patients with higher hope demonstrate stronger treatment outcomes.
-
Hope predicts better long-term physical health and fewer emergency visits.
And yes — hope is measurable.
The Adult Hope Scale (AHS) and the emerging UN Voluntary Hope Index allow individuals and nations to track progress.
Hope isn’t soft.
It’s infrastructure.
Hope & the SDGs
Hope as a Driver of Sustainable Development
Hope directly strengthens global goals:
-
SDG 3 – Health: improves mental and physical well-being
-
SDG 4 – Education: boosts motivation and academic success
-
SDG 8 – Economic Inclusion: increases entrepreneurship and financial resilience
-
SDG 13 – Climate Action: sustains long-term commitment to change
Development programs that integrate hope-based mentoring consistently show better outcomes.
Hope builds capability.
Capability builds progress.

Hope, Peacebuilding & Community Healing
When systems fracture trust, hope is the first building block to restore it.
Hope supports peacebuilding by:
-
Encouraging dialogue between divided groups
-
Strengthening social cohesion
-
Empowering community leadership
-
Creating bridges where trauma has left fault lines
Healing and hope — together — create the foundation for lasting peace.
