HOST A SCREENING OR CONVERSATION

Shattered is currently preparing for release.

Community and professional screenings will begin following the film’s official launch. Organisations interested in hosting a screening or facilitated conversation are invited to register their interest.

As Australia approaches the centenary of workers’ compensation legislation in 2026, Shattered invites communities to reflect on how systems designed to protect people can evolve to better support recovery and dignity.

Ways to Screen the Film

Bring Shattered to your organisation or community through a hosted screening or facilitated conversation.

Hosting a screening creates space for meaningful discussion about workplace injury, patient care and the systems that shape recovery.

Registered hosts receive access to screening resources including discussion guides and event support materials.

Shattered is Designed to be Experienced Together

Across Australia and beyond, communities are beginning conversations about a system most people only encounter when something has already gone wrong.

Through screenings in cinemas, workplaces, universities, healthcare settings and community organisations, Shattered invites audiences to better understand the realities facing families navigating workplace injury and recovery.

Because when a worker is injured, it is never just about work.

It is about health, family, livelihood and dignity.

And it could be any one of us.

Running Time

87 minutes

Many hosts include an additional 30–45 minute panel discussion or Q&A following the screening.

These conversations often bring together healthcare professionals, researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, employers and people with lived experience.

Host a Conversation

Shattered has been produced to allow organisations to accompany their screening  with a facilitated conversation or panel discussion.

The film explores the complex intersection between healthcare, law, insurance, policy and human experience, creating an opportunity for different perspectives to come together in a constructive setting.

Possible participants in a discussion may include:

● healthcare professionals
● workplace leaders and HR professionals
● legal practitioners
● policy specialists and regulators
● researchers and academics
● injured workers and community advocates

These conversations can become one of the most valuable aspects of a screening event.

Optional Discussion Themes

Hosts can explore questions such as:

● How do compensation systems intersect with healthcare and recovery?
● What challenges arise when medical care, insurance and law intersect?
● How can systems better support both recovery and dignity?
● What role can workplaces and communities play in supporting injured workers?

If you would like to host a conversation, the Screening Host Guide includes discussion prompts and event planning tips to help facilitate meaningful dialogue.
